Tether is a system using blockchain technologies to convert cash to/from digital money while anchoring or tethering the value of its cryptocurrencies to the price of national currencies such as US dollar, euro, etc. An automatic proof of reserves process for money deposited in the Tether system is a nice and efficient alternative to traditional proof of solvency methods for electronic wallet holders.
